Adam Yates insists Port Vale will not give up on their promotion push despite three successive league losses.
Saturday's 3-0 defeat to Southend left Vale 13th in the League Two table, six points adrift of the play-offs.
Buy Yates believes the team are still fighting and told The Sentinel: "There's no chance of us giving up because we're not quitters and there are more than 60 points to play for, so why would we?
"Every game represents an opportunity to get back on track when you've lost three games on the bounce.
Yates believes the Valiants have suffered without attackers Jennison Myrie-Williams and Guy Madjo after the pair returned to Stevenage at the end of their loan deals.
He added: "We have missed Jennison and Madjo and certainly that's the case with Jennison, who made a difference to us formation-wise."
