Nurnberg midfielder Timmy Simons has signed a two-year contract extension at the easy-Credit-Stadion.
The 35-year-old Belgium international is now under terms until the summer of 2014, with his previous deal having been set to expire this June.
And Nurnberg manager Dieter Hecking and general manager Martin Bader are both delighted first-team regular Simons has committed to the club.
Hecking told Nurnberg's official website: "This is great news. Timmy is a reliable first-team player with us. He is an important lad, not just down on the pitch.
"He is a great person and I am looking forward to seeing him further help our young players with all of his great experience."
Bader said: "Timmy Simons has been a very solid and an extremely important first-team player of our club in recent years.
"He is key to our plans, very much indispensable. Having him around for more than his previous deal is excellent news."
