Sky Sports sources understand a trio of Championship clubs are keen on signing Hearts attacker David Templeton.

The 23-year-old, who can play on the wing or up front, has scored 11 goals in over 70 SPL appearances since joining Hearts in 2007 from Stenhousemuir.

Templeton has been given time to develop at Tynecastle and his performances this season have attracted interest from England.

Bristol City, Cardiff City and Portsmouth are all understood to be monitoring Templeton's situation, with Hearts' financial situation possibly leading to his January sale.

Hearts have already sold Eggert Jonsson to Wolves, while several other members of Paulo Sergio's squad have been linked with departures in the transfer window.
