Chinese side Guangzhou Evergrande have rejected speculation they are lining up a move for Chelsea striker Didier Drogba.
Drogba's future has been the subject of speculation for some time with the striker's contract due to expire at the end of the season and as yet no agreement has been reached over a new deal.
Reports have suggested Chinese champions Guangzhou were planning to lure Drogba away from Stamford Bridge in this month's transfer window with a lucrative offer.
Shanghai Shenhua, who signed Drogba's former Chelsea team-mate Nicolas Anelka earlier this month, and Dalian Aerbin have also been credited with an interest in Drogba.
However, Guangzhou insist they have no plans to make a move for Drogba, who is currently away on international duty with Ivory Coast at the African Cup of Nations.
"We have had no contact with Drogba whatsoever, nor have we authorised anyone to contact him," said a Guangzhou spokeman.
"The recent reports on Drogba are pure speculation, he is not in our plans."
