Sky Sports understands Dundee United youngster Scott Allan is set to wrap up his move to West Brom later on Monday and become the Baggies' first signing of the transfer window.
The highly-rated midfielder reportedly passed a medical at the Hawthorns on Friday after the Baggies agreed a fee for the 20-year-old last month.
Allan, who is out of contract at Tannadice in the summer and turned down the offer of a new deal, is poised to pen a three-and-a-half year contract in the Midlands.
West Brom have seen off competition from Old Firm duo Celtic and Rangers to land the playmaker, who came through the youth ranks at United.
Roy Hodgson will be hoping Allan can provide a boost to Albion's second half of the campaign, with the club currently 15th in the Premier League table having failed to win in three games.
