Roma's Daniele De Rossi has admitted that he has 'clear ideas' what his future holds after being linked with a January move to Manchester City.
The 28-year-old Italy international is in the final season of his current deal at the Stadio Olympico and could be made available for as little as £5million.
Blues boss Roberto Mancini has been made aware of De Rossi's potential availability and could be tempted into making a move for the midfielder, although he may have to lower his salary requirements.
The capital giants are expected to open talks with the player over a new deal given that he has a reputation as a one-club man, having spent 10 years with the Serie A outfit.
But De Rossi said: "I absolutely have clear ideas regarding my future but I will continue not to talk about this.
"However, this means being aware of what to say and what not to say."
