Bristol City manager Derek McInnes has moved to quash the ongoing transfer speculation surrounding star striker Nicky Maynard.

Maynard is out of contract at Ashton Gate in the summer and was recently made available for transfer after turning down the offer of a new deal last month.

Premier League newcomers Swansea are the latest side thought to be chasing the 25-year-old's signature, while he has also been linked with QPR and Wolves.

Several of City's Championship rivals are also thought to be interested, with Ipswich and Leicester believed to be targeting the frontman.

But Robins boss McInnes, who said earlier this week he has received no bids for Maynard, has stamped on the transfer talk.

He said: "I don't understand all this talk about Maynard.

"He's a Bristol City player, we paid for him and we pay his wages. All the while that's the case, he will continue to play for us."
