Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp has ruled out a move for Huddersfield striker Jordan Rhodes and expects Giovani Dos Santos to leave during the January transfer window.
Rhodes was watched by a raft of Premier League scouts against Wycombe Wanderers on Friday night, with Spurs' Joe Jordan and Clive Allen also present, and scored a remarkable five goals during a 6-0 rout.
However, Redknapp claims Spurs will not be making a move for the 21-year-old despite the forward's impressive form in League One.
Asked whether he would be making a move for Rhodes, Redknapp said: "No, he's a great player but not for Tottenham.
"We haven't made any offers. It's difficult, we've already got a good squad and there's no need to bring anyone in unless they can go straight in and improve the team."
But the Spurs manager believes there will be at least one player leaving White Hart Lane this winter, with Dos Santos expected to move on to pastures new.
"I think he'll probably move but it's got to be the right offer," Redknapp added. "He's looking to move and we'll see what happens this window."
Asked why the Mexican had failed to make a real impact at White Hart Lane during his time in North London, despite scoring and creating a goal during the 3-0 victory over Cheltenham Town in the FA Cup, Redknapp added: "It's difficult to say, he's got talent there's no doubt about it.
"He needs to work harder in training and get fit, but then he's up against (Gareth) Bale and (Aaron) Lennon."
Tottenham have also been linked with Blackburn defender Chris Samba but Redknapp cooled the speculation, although he admitted adding a star name could be a possibility while insisting no first-team players would leave.
"Daniel (chairman, Levy) normally likes to do something - he enjoys the transfer window. If the right player comes along he would look to do something special I'm sure."
