Eduardo Vargas' agent has revealed the reasons why his client shunned the opportunity to join Chelsea this winter in favour of a switch to Napoli.

The Chile international forward joined the Italian club from Universidad de Chile despite having been the subject of interest from other major European clubs, namely Chelsea.

However, the 22-year-old's representative says that his client has no regret over the move to Naples and is confident that he will improve and develop in Serie A.

"An agent must know what the best destination for his client is," Cristian Ogalde told Que Pasa.

"The choice must not be dictated only by economic reasons or the club's coat of arms but also by the possibility to grow and show qualities.

"The interest of Chelsea? We would have been proud of his move to the Blues and we certainly would have got a higher wage, but Napoli was the best solution for everyone.

"The club were determined and showed us that they strongly believe in the potential of the boy, who can express his talent in the Azzurri shirt."
