Huddersfield manager Lee Clark feels Jordan Rhodes is as good a finisher as any of the legends he played with.
The in-demand striker bagged five goals in the Terriers' six-goal trouncing of Wycombe on Friday night.
Rhodes took his season's tally to an amazing 27 as he scored his fourth hat-trick of the campaign against an abject Wycombe side that slid to their heaviest-ever home defeat in the Football League.
Clark said: "In terms of his finishing, I bracket him with Alan Shearer and Andy Cole, though obviously he hasn't achieved what they did at their level yet.
"Certainly when you put the ball in the box he's as good as anything. Kevin Phillips, who was a magical finisher, is another example. But the thing that pleases me most about Jordan is that his general play is sensational at the moment.
"He's not just scoring but bringing other people into play, holding the ball up and he's creating chances for other players and his movement is fantastic. It was a sensational performance from us - I'm not being disrespectful to Wycombe but it could have been double figures or seven or eight at half-time.
"We've played well in our previous games but we made individual errors that cost us, but we've now scored 12 goals in our last three away games."
