Luuk de Jong will stay at FC Twente this month after spurning interest from Italian side Fiorentina, according to his father.
The striker has been a key performer for Twente this season, reportedly attracting interest from across Europe, including Premier League sides Liverpool and Newcastle.
His father, George de Jong, claims the 21-year-old has turned down a concrete bid from Fiorentina in favour of staying in Enschede.
He said on Twitter: "Luuk discussed the prospect of a transfer with Fiorentina. He has decided not to follow it up and will stay with FC Twente."
De Jong, a youth product at Twente, is contracted at the De Grolsch Veste until summer 2014, with the option for another season.
