Veteran goalkeeper Maik Taylor has agreed to stay with Leeds United for the rest of the season to provide manager Simon Grayson with cover.
Taylor joined Leeds on a short-term deal in November after he ended his search for a new club following his departure from Birmingham City.
The Northern Ireland international's contract was due to expire in a fortnight, but the 40-year-old will see out the campaign at Elland Road.
"We've agreed a deal until the end of the season," Whites boss Grayson told the club's official website.
"Maik has got good experience to be in and around the squad and obviously if anything happens to Andy Lonergan, Maik can step in."
Taylor has yet to make an appearance for Leeds, but is likely to be on the bench for Monday's FA Cup third round tie at Arsenal.
