Rotherham boss Andy Scott says Jon Harley will only return to the club if he comes to an agreement with parent side Notts County.
The 32-year-old left-back has returned to the Magpies after his deal with the Millers, who he joined on loan in October, expired on January 2.
And while Scott is keen to have him back, he admitted a deal, whether permanent or another loan, is far from being completed.
"Financially, we're nowhere near the deal he's got there (at Notts County) but we're keeping a close eye on things," Scott told the Star.
"If he isn't let go then there becomes the possibility of a loan again, but we're fluid over the situation."
