Roman Golobart has extended his loan deal at SPL side Inverness Caledonian Thistle until the end of the season.

Defender will see out the season under Terry Butcher

Wigan defender Roman Golobart has extended his loan deal at SPL side Inverness Caledonian Thistle until the end of the season. The highly-rated youngster has so impressed during his initial four-month deal that the Scottish side have asked to keep the Spaniard for an extra six months. Golobart, 19, joined Wigan from Espanyol 18 months ago but has yet to make a first0team appearance for the club. But his performances in Scotland, including his first goal just before Christmas, have caught the eye of Caley boss Terry Butcher, prompting him to keep the youngster until the summer. Wigan boss Roberto Martinez said: "It is the perfect situation for Roman to continue his development in a competitive league such as the SPL. "We have and we will continue to monitor his progress carefully and will look forward to welcoming him back in the summer as a much more experienced professional."
