Doncaster Rovers have turned down an undisclosed bid from Leicester City for Billy Sharp, skysports.com understands.
Rovers have already confirmed that Sharp can leave in January if their valuation is met.
Now a host of Premier League and Championship clubs are ready to battle it out for the 25-year-old.
Leicester are now the first to make a firm offer, but it does not meet Rovers' demands or the player's release clause, which is believed to be just less than £2million.
Fulham, Wigan, Southampton, Ipswich, Middlesbrough and Hull City have all been linked in recent weeks.
