Leeds United boss Simon Grayson has recalled defender Alex Bruce early from his loan spell at Huddersfield Town.
Fellow defender Tom Lees is doubtful for Saturday's game at Barnsley after a clash of heads in the Boxing Day defeat at Derby and Bruce will boost Grayson's options ahead of two games in three days.
Grayson told Leeds' official website: "We had a 24-hour recall for Alex and we feel we want him back here for the weekend.
"Tom is a doubt. He took a nasty bang, he was dazed and there's no way we'll risk him if he isn't 100%. We'll be guided by the medical staff on that and see where we are.
"The two games are a quick turnaround for us and by bringing Alex back it strengthens our options and ensures we have a versatile player who has played some games recently and can step straight in if needed."
Bruce made three appearances for Huddersfield after joining them on loan at the end of November.
