Doncaster Rovers have secured Pascal Chimbonda's services for the remainder of the Championship season.
The former Wigan, Tottenham and Blackburn full-back joined the south Yorkshire club in September on a short-term contract.
Chimbonda has made five league starts since being released by QPR and he has done enough to extend his Rovers stay.
The French defender sees no reason why Dean Saunders' side cannot retain their Championship status this term.
"The aim is to stay in the Championship," he told the club's official website. "If we do we can achieve big things.
"There's a lot who've followed me in that are quality like (El Hadji) Diouf and (Herita) Ilunga and I want to stay with them until the end of the season.
"Maybe after that we can aim for the play-offs but first we have to beat Watford and Barnsley."
