Skysports.com understands Preston North End's on-loan midfielder Nathan Doyle wants to resolve his future in January.
Doyle has impressed in making six appearances for Preston since joining the League One club on loan in November from Barnsley.
The 24-year-old's contract at Barnsley expires at the end of the season and Doyle is keen to know where his future lies in the New Year.
The former Hull City man has enjoyed his loan spell at Deepdale, although the Lilywhites are currently without a manager following the sacking of Phil Brown.
Doyle, who joined the Tykes initially on loan in 2009, is understood to have several options open to him as he weighs up his long-term future.
