Jack Hobbs is hoping Hull City can hang on to his defensive partner James Chester during the January transfer window to boost the club's promotion ambitions.
Chester joined the Tigers from Manchester United in January and has been an ever-present alongside Hobbs in the Championship this season.
The 22-year-old's performances have seen him linked with the likes of Bolton and Everton, and Hobbs is not surprised his team-mate is attracting Premier League interest.
Hobbs is enjoying playing alongside Chester and he is keen for the partnership to remain intact as the Tigers chase a return to the top flight.
"He has been part of the foundation of the success that we've had and to keep hold of those kind of players is important if we want to keep looking up at those top two spots," said Hobbs.
"Without a doubt he's a Premier League player of the future. You can tell he's been brought up through United, the way that he plays and how comfortable he is on the ball.
"Hopefully, we can keep hold of him and he can go on and play at the top with Hull.
"I am really enjoying playing alongside Chezzie. He is very quick, reads the game well, is very good in the air, he's got a great spring on him, and I am sure there are big clubs looking at him for January.
"But hopefully we can hold on to him and we can continue to build our partnership."
