Genoa owner Enrico Preziosi has drawn up a list of some of the top forwards in Serie A and hopes to bring in at least one of them when the transfer window reopens.

Genoa have made a solid rather than spectacular start to the Serie A season and Preziosi is keen to push on from their current position of tenth during the second half of the campaign.

He believes the addition of a high-class striker could propel Genoa to a bright future and he has identified several options for January.

Maxi Lopez of Catania, Inter Milan's Diego Milito, Roma frontman Marco Borriello and Amauri of Juventus are the players under consideration.

All champions

Preziosi has no preference about which of them arrives but knows Genoa must increase their attacking arsenal, having scored just 19 goals in 16 league games.

"Maxi Lopez is a talented player, as are Borriello and Milito," Preziosi told Sky Sport Italia.

"And then there's Amauri, who I brought to Italy and I'd like to have him back for a couple of years.

"They are all champions and I hope to bring at least one of them to Genoa.

"At present no one is favoured, but in the next few days there may be news."
