Skysports.com understands Celtic have turned down the chance to sign former Rangers striker Kris Boyd on a free transfer.
Boyd is looking for a new club after cancelling his contract at Turkish club Eskisehirspor following a dispute over unpaid wages.
Celtic boss Neil Lennon admitted earlier this week he would not let Boyd's Rangers background sway him from making a move for the player if he wanted to bring him to Celtic Park.
However, it is understood Celtic have rejected any move for Boyd after the club were sounded out about taking the all-time SPL top scorer on a free transfer.
Lennon is thought to be happy with the strikers at his disposal and is looking at other targets instead of Boyd.
Rangers boss Ally McCoist has refused to rule out making a move to bring Boyd back to Rangers and it appears the path is clear for Rangers to sign the Scot.
