Barcelona star Andres Iniesta has been ruled out for a fortnight after suffering a thigh injury in the Copa del Rey demolition of Hospitalet.
The Spain international will consequently miss the away leg of Barcelona's last-16 tie in the cup and also the Primera Liga game against Espanyol on 7th or 8th January.
Iniesta, 27, sustained the muscle tear when colliding with Hospitalet goalkeeper Carlos Craviotto inside the opening half-an-hour of Barcelona's 9-0 win on Thursday night.
And the Spanish and European champions confirmed the setback in a statement, which read: "Iniesta will out of action for 15 days after sustaining a muscle injury."
Barcelona have already been hit by David Villa's broken leg, which has required surgery and has ruled Spain's all-time top goalscorer out for five months.
