Midfielder Damon Lathrope thinks the condensed Christmas period could make or break Torquay's season.
The Gulls play three times over the festive fortnight, including clashes with promotion-chasing Swindon and Oxford.
With his side four points off the League Two play-offs at present, Lathrope knows only a healthy points return will do for the Devon club as 2011 turns into 2012.
"Christmas is one of the most important times. If you can come out of the Christmas period in at least midtable in gives you a great chance to keep pushing on up the table in the new year," he said.
"It's one of the best parts of the year for a player because you have plenty of games and you're always involved. It's tough and it's tiring but it's a lot of fun.
"We're going into it with the best form we could have and a lot of momentum and hopefully that will help us."
