Fears regarding Dean Shiels' ankle injury have been eased, with it confirmed that he has suffered no break.
Early reports suggested that the midfielder had broken a bone during a weekend outing for Kilmarnock.
Shiels is currently on loan at the Scottish Premier League outfit from Doncaster.
He picked up the knock during Kilmarnock's 1-1 draw with Dundee United on Saturday.
It was feared that he would be forced to sit out the remainder of the festive fixture list, taking him through to the end of his six-month loan deal.
X-rays have, however, revealed that Shiels has suffered nothing worse than severe swelling to his ankle.
He will still be forced to sit out a Christmas Eve clash with Celtic, but he could be ready for a meeting with St Johnstone on 28th December.
