Peterborough United's George Boyd is glad he did not seal a permanent move to Nottingham Forest ahead of Saturday's Boxing Day clash.
The former Stevenage man joined Forest in March 2010 for the remainder of the season, although he returned to Posh that summer.
The 26-year-old has admitted his City Ground move did not work out and considering the famous club are now in the drop zone he is pleased he stayed.
Peterborough tackle the Championship strugglers this weekend and Boyd is hoping to inflict more misery on Steve Cotterill's team.
"It didn't work out for me as well I had hoped, but looking at where the clubs are now maybe that's a good thing," he told the Peterborough Evening Telegraph.
"We're doing well and they're not and I hope that carries on into next week.
"I didn't ask for the move to Forest and I was happy to sign a new Posh contract at the end of that season.
"Things have gone really well for us in the last couple of seasons and we'll go to Forest full of confidence."
