Molineux boss looking to offload fringe striker

Wolves manager Mick McCarthy has confirmed striker Leigh Griffiths is free to find himself a new club. The ex-Dundee marksman has made one appearance for the Midlands side following his move in January. Griffiths is currently on loan at Hibernian and McCarthy has admitted he will not be breaking into his first team. The Molineux boss has spoken with new Easter Road manager Pat Fenlon about Griffiths, but it does not seem a deal is in the pipeline.

Transfer

"Leigh isn't going to get in my team so if I can sell him, I'll sell him," McCarthy told the Edinburgh Evening News. "I don't see him getting in my first team now and if it means we sell him on with a sell-on clause so be it. "Colin Calderwood wanted to sign him and I've had a discussion with Pat Fenlon and we're leaving it as it is for now. "There are a couple of other Scottish clubs who fancy Leigh."
