Scot not making the grade at Eskisehirspor

Scotland striker Kris Boyd is failing to meet expectations at Turkish club Eskisehirspor, according to manager Michael Skibbe. The ex-Rangers man made the lucrative move to the Super Lig side from Middlesbrough in the summer but has struggled to make an impact. After being hampered by injuries since his switch, Boyd has clocked up just 76 minutes of football for Eskisehirspor and is yet to score for the ambitious Turks. Skibbe admits the 28-year-old has so far fallen short of the standard required. "Kris Boyd is a very good character but his football has not been up to the desired level," the manager told the Daily Record. "He's been unfortunate that he has been mostly unable to get into the squad because we have been winning games recently."
