Brighton have confirmed that Spanish ace Vicente has suffered a fresh injury setback.
The former Valencia midfielder has started just two matches for the Seagulls since joining in the summer.
The 30-year-old has been suffering with a persistent thigh injury, which is continuing to hamper him.
"For some reason something is happening every week so we are trying to look at the cause by doing more tests," said manager Gus Poyet.
"At the end of the day we want him to be fully fit, to be the player we want him to be. He is finding the whole situation very difficult but that's football.
"He was, and he still is, a key player for us. That is why we need to make sure we get him properly fit.
"It was a thigh problem but now it's not just that. He's been uncomfortable and can't get himself back to full fitness, which is what he needs. He missed our pre-season which could have had an effect, but it's very frustrating for him."
