Skysports.com understands Wycombe star Scott Donnelly will miss the rest of the season after suffering a cruciate knee ligament injury.
Donnelly, who is on loan at Wycombe from Swansea City, sustained the injury during last weekend's win over Chesterfield.
The 23-year-old collapsed in front of the dug-outs holding his right knee early on in the game and was carried off on a stretcher before leaving Adams Park on crutches.
Scans have now confirmed Wycombe's worst fears as Donnelly has injured his cruciate ligament which is expected to keep him out of action for up to eight months.
Donnelly is expected to return to Swansea to undergo his rehab and the news is a major blow for Wycombe with the midfielder netting five goals for the Chairboys this term.
