Wes Fogden knows he has to be on his toes if he wants to nail down a place in the Bournemouth first team.
The attacking midfielder, signed from non-League Havant & Waterlooville in October, has been in and out of the Cherries' starting line-up since making the step up into the professional game.
And he stressed the calibre of players at manager Lee Bradbury's disposal means no-one's spot is safe.
"The squad is big as it is but the quality is very high and so, by keeping the standards high, we keep on pushing each other forward," he said.
"If we're not up to it then someone will be there wanting to come in and claim your position.
"Everyone's got to be at their best all the time, and that's a good thing for the club."
