Midfielder could be out until February after suffering a knee injury

Peterborough United captain Grant McCann is facing the prospect of up to 10 weeks on the sidelines due to a knee injury. The midfielder limped out of the 1-1 draw against Leicester on Saturday and could now be out of action until February. He will miss the busy festive programme and McCann expressed his frustration at being forced to sit out a key period for Peterborough. McCann told the club's official website: "It is very frustrating and disappointing to be out for so long. It was a block tackle and my knee has just opened up. "It's disappointing, but I am confident the lads can build on the point last weekend against Coventry City on Saturday." Posh boss Darren Ferguson added: "It is a blow to lose Grant for that long. He has been in very good form, but the players that came on did well for us." Meanwhile, midfielder Lee Frecklington also picked up a knock on Saturday and he will be assessed over the coming days.
