Preston midfielder Darel Russell wants to earn himself a prolonged stay on-loan at League One rivals Charlton.
The 31-year-old's current deal at The Valley is due to expire in January, but he is hoping to prove to Addicks boss Chris Powell to keep hold of him.
"I'm hoping to do as well as I can for the team, for myself and for the manager as well," he told News Shopper.
"What happens at the end of the loan period is obviously dependent on how well I do and how the team does. I hadn't been playing previously and the gaffer had a lot of faith to put me straight in.
"I thank him for that and hope to repay him the best as I possibly can with good performances and good results."
