Coventry City captain Sammy Clingan is expected to sit out the busy Christmas programme after suffering a broken toe.
Clingan picked up the injury in the recent defeat at Portsmouth and was forced to miss Saturday's 1-0 home reverse at the hands of Hull City.
The midfielder is now likely to be sidelined for at least a fortnight to leave Sky Blues boss Andy Thorn ruing another injury setback to his squad.
"Sammy's got a fractured toe and he can't get a shoe on at the moment," Thorn told the Coventry Telegraph.
"He took a bang on his foot at Portsmouth last week and we had him X-rayed and he's got a fractured toe on the outside so we've got a few more problems because it could be a couple of weeks.
"We lost Cody McDonald at half-time. He ran out on to the pitch at the start of the second half and his knee went and that's why we had to make the substitution straight away and put Clive Platt on.
"Richard Wood was cramping up and had to come off as well so things just ain't going for us at the moment.
"But we have got to keep going and got to stay positive and get back on the training ground and work at it again."
