Fulham midfielder returns to action in losing cause

Simon Davies felt Fulham were unfortunate to lose at Swansea on his comeback from a knee injury. The Welsh midfielder was playing for the first time since his club's Europa League opener in June. But he could not prevent Fulham going down 2-0 at the Liberty Stadium and admits he is still some way from full fitness. "I wasn't expecting to come back so soon, but after Danny Murphy got injured the manager asked me if I was capable of playing," Davies told The Sun.

Frustrating

"I'm nowhere near where I want to be fitness-wise but after a frustrating season it was great to get back. "It was just a shame about the result. It was very disappointing. "Swansea kept the ball and defended well but after they scored we really put it on them. "We had plenty of chances and a draw would have been fair but their keeper had a stormer."
