Chelsea boss Andre Villas-Boas has moved to clear up the contract situation regarding Oriol Romeu.
The 20-year-old Spanish midfielder signed for the Blues in the summer from Barcelona.
As part of the deal Barca announced that they had a first refusal clause which meant they could buy back the 20-year-old in 2013.
But Villas-Boas insists that Barcelona only have the right to buy him back, should Chelsea opt to sell.
"The buy-back option states that Barcelona can only buy back if Chelsea are willing to sell," clarified Villas-Boas, who admits he is delighted with the young Catalan.
"There is always time needed for you to adapt into the Premier League but with Oriol Romeu and Juan Mata, and Raul Meireles last year at Liverpool, these players have adapted pretty well to Premier League standard.
"They have all set standards of quick adaptation to this level."
