Hendrick signs new Derby deal

Teenage midfielder commits his long-term future to Pride Park club

Jeff Hendrick: The young midfielder has made a great impression at Pride Park this season

Midfielder Jeff Hendrick has signed a new contract with Derby in a deal that extends his stay with the Rams until the summer of 2015.

Skysports.com revealed earlier in the week that the 19-year-old would be putting pen to paper on a new deal and the contract has now been signed.

The Republic of Ireland Under-21 international - who has made a great impression in his 20 first-team appearances this campaign - says he is delighted to secure his future with the Pride Park club.

The Academy graduate told Derby's official website: "I'm delighted and honoured to have signed a new contract and it's nice to have it all done and dusted.

Dream come true

"The last four months has been a dream come true for me to be playing regularly in the first team alongside some fantastic players.

"I want to continue to work hard and develop as a player, which I am sure I will do under Nigel Clough and his coaching staff.

"They have shown an unbelievable amount of belief and faith in me and I hope to repay that faith on the pitch."
