Galatasaray are on the verge of confirming a deal to sign Jose Antonio Reyes from Atletico Madrid, according to their president.
Unal Aysal responded to speculation in the Spanish media that the Turkish giants were set to beat several other clubs to the former Sevilla, Arsenal and Real Madrid forward.
A return to hometown club Sevilla was said to have been Reyes' first choice if he left Atletico, but Galatasaray have made the only concrete offer to him ahead of the January transfer window.
"The news coming out of Spain is correct," the Galatasaray supremo told Turkish television.
"We have met with [Reyes] and if our coach thinks that the move would be good that he could be here tomorrow."
Lines of communication between the two clubs have been strong since Atletico bought winger Arda Turan from Gala last summer for around €12 million.
Aysal was quick to make assurances that the agreement to take Reyes in the opposite direction would see his club make money from the exchange.
"Signing him would be only a third of the price that Atletico paid for Arda Turan," he confirmed.
