Macclesfield boss Gary Simpson has paid tribute to utility man Tony Diagne, who scored in the FA Cup tie against Chelmsford.
The 21-year-old has been employed across a number of positions in defence and midfield for the Silkmen this season.
On Saturday he lined up at left-back against the Blue Square Bet South side and produced an acrobatic finish to rescue a 1-1 draw and spare Town from an embarrassing upset..
"His contribution has been important wherever we have played him, whether it's in midfield, at the the centre of defence or full-back," Simpson said.
"We played him at left-back on Saturday and he has got us the goal.
"I think his best position is probably centrally but wherever we have put him his contribution has been tremendous."
