Newcastle United defender Steven Taylor is 'devastated' at suffering a potentially season-ending Achilles injury against Chelsea.
The 25-year-old hobbled out of the Magpies' 3-0 defeat to Chelsea and was due to be operated on in London on Monday.
The St James' Park side have hinted the centre-back will miss the rest of the campaign, while Taylor is not putting a timescale on his recovery.
"I'm absolutely devastated. I've been here before with my shoulder injury, and I'm just focused on working hard and getting back after the operation," he told the Evening Chronicle.
"I've just got to get myself fit again. There's no time limit, I'll be ready when I'm ready. There's no point rushing it - I've just got to make sure I'm right."
