Rangers expect striker Kyle Lafferty to face Dunfermline in some capacity if he proves his fitness after a scan eased fears over his back injury.
The Northern Ireland international was forced off with the injury in the first half of his side's 1-0 Scottish Premier League defeat by Kilmarnock on Sunday.
But tests have shown the injury is not serious and he will be monitored over the coming days with a view to playing at Ibrox on Saturday.
A statement on the club's official website read: "If he proves his fitness ahead of the home meeting with the Pars, it is expected he will play some part in the match."
Rangers are also hopeful that Carlos Bocanegra will overcome the minor hamstring problem that saw him miss the Rugby Park defeat.
And Steven Whittaker is hoping to recover from the Achilles knock that forced him off during Tuesday night's 2-1 friendly defeat by Hamburg.
