Chesterfield have handed a trial to French midfielder Jimmy Juan, who is looking for a club after his team went bust.
Juan, who began his career in his homeland with Monaco, featured for a Spireites reserve side in a 3-1 victory over Port Vale in the Central League Cup on Tuesday afternoon.
The 28-year-old spent the 2005-06 season on loan at Ipswich, where he made 34 appearances and scored five goals.
He was most recently at Grenoble and is looking for a new club after the French side went bust earlier this year.
Meanwhile, Jack Lester, on the comeback trail after three months out with a broken arm, Danny Whitaker and Dean Morgan scored the goals against Vale.
