Furman delighted with Scapuzzi and Mancini

Oldham skipper Dean Furman believes on-loan duo Luca Scapuzzi and Andreas Mancini have bright futures ahead of them. The Manchester City youngsters are currently enjoying stints at Boundary Park having joined earlier this month. 20-year-old Scapuzzi made his Citizens debut earlier this season in the Carling Cup and has caught the eye since joining the Latics, while 19-year-old Mancini has made just one appearance since making the switch. However, the South African midfielder told skysports.com that both players have shown their potential since arriving at the League One outfit.

Promising

"The boys have been here for a good few weeks now and it is great that Manchester City have allowed two of their promising young players to come here on loan," he said. "Luca Scapuzzi has started a few games now and he has shown his quality on the ball with a goal against Crewe and his all-round play has benefited the whole side. "Andrea Mancini has also done well when coming off the bench, so both of them are great additions to what we have at this club going forward. "Obviously, they are highly-rated at City and I'm sure that they will go on to have good careers there because they are both excellent on the ball."
Confidence
The Latics extended their run of just one defeat in eight games with a goalless draw at Bournemouth on Saturday and Furman is keen to start climbing the table, despite tough fixtures against top two Sheffield Wednesday and Charlton coming up. "We still have a lot of confidence within the group and we are looking forward to every game that comes because we believe that if we keep playing our football we will get the points to take us up the league and to where we want to be," he said. "Obviously those two games will be tough because the table doesn't lie and they are both up there on merit, but most people won't give us a chance and that might help us when we face them."
