Having found regular first team football at Blackpool, Jonjo Shelvey is hoping Liverpool will agree to extend his loan agreement.
The midfielder, who is considered to be one for the future at Anfield, has netted six times during a productive spell at Bloomfield Road.
He has helped the Seasiders place themselves within the promotion-chasing pack in the Championship, with the club looking to bounce back into the top flight at the first time of asking.
Shelvey is eager to see that challenge through to the end and has expressed a desire to remain at Blackpool for the remainder of the 2011/12 campaign.
"Blackpool are a good team with good players and I have asked Liverpool if I can stay here for the season," the 19-year-old told blackpool.vitalfootball.co.uk.
"It is not that far from home and I think we could achieve something.
"I am really enjoying it here.
"Obviously I want to break into the Liverpool side, but I think playing at a good club gives me the best chance of doing that."
