Kevin Strootman: He was one of six different goalscorers in PSV's rout of Groningen
PSV Eindhoven moved to within three points of AZ Alkmaar at the top of the table thanks to a thumping 6-1 victory at home to Groningen.
NAC Breda 2 Heerenveen 2
Roda JC 3 Heracles 1
VVV Venlo 1 De Graafschap 2
PSV Eindhoven 6 Groningen 1
There were six different goalscorers for free-scoring PSV Eindhoven as highly-rated Dutch midfielder Kevin Strootman opened the floodgates. Dries Mertens, Zakaria Labyad, youngster Georginio Wijnaldum, the impressive Tim Matavz and skipper captain Ola Toivonen added further goals in a demolition of Groningen.
NAC Breda and Heerenveen shared the spoils in an entertaining encounter at Rat Verlegh Stadion.
Filip Djuricic fired Heerenveen ahead just after the half-hour mark but NAC turned the tables with an Anthony Lurling strike and a Ramon Zomer own goal giving them the half-time advantage. The visitors levelled through Darryl Janmaat just past the hour mark.
Meanwhile, Roda JC Kerkrade overcame Heracles at the Parkstad Limburg Stadion with a comfortable 3-1 victory.
Mads Junker scored twice in two minutes. He opened the scoring in the 66th minute with a great strike before he doubled his tally from close range in a frantic passage of play. Willy Overtoom pulled one back for Heracles from the penalty spot but it was scant consolation as Sanharib Malki added Roda JC's third 60 seconds later.
Finally, a goal by Yuri Rose four minutes from time saw De Graafschap claim their first away win of the season at VVV-Venlo.
Michael Uchebo put VVV ahead after 17 minutes, a lead they held until 16 minutes from the end when Rydell Poepon levelled. The game was heading for a draw before Rose slotted home as De Graafschap moved five points ahead of their struggling hosts at the wrong end of the table.
