Wolverhampton Wanderers defender Richard Stearman could return to action quicker than expected from his wrist injury.
The right-back broke his wrist during his side's Premier League clash with Everton at Goodison Park last weekend that ended in a 2-1 defeat for Wolves.
Stearman was initially expected to be sidelined for a month but a protective carbon fibre cast could see the 24-year-old return to training as early as next week.
"Stears might be training next week with the youngsters," said Wolves boss Mick McCarthy.
"He is going to have a carbon fibre cast put on the wrist.
"If it is something he can play with, it will be sooner rather than later when he returns."
Wolves are currently 17th in the league standings with 11 points from 12 matches, just two points above the relegation zone, and are at Chelsea on Saturday.
