Skysports.com understands Swindon made a beat-the-deadline swoop for Charlton striker Paul Benson.
Benson was expected to join Bradford on Thursday's loan deadline day, but the move fell through at the last minute.
That alerted Swindon and they are believed to have made a late swoop for Benson as Paolo Di Canio looks to bolster his attacking options.
Charlton are willing to loan out Benson as the former Dagenham & Redbridge man is will down the pecking order in Chris Powell's plans.
Swindon are believed to have agreed a deal with Charlton for Benson, but are now awaiting confirmation from the Football League that the move went through before Thursday's 5pm deadline.
