Scott Brown is aware of speculation linking him with a move to Newcastle but claims to be paying no attention to it as he discusses a new deal with Celtic.
The midfielder has been locked in talks with the Old Firm giants for some time, with both sides claiming to be closing on an agreement without putting anything in place.
The Bhoys' failure to tie their skipper down has added weight to reports suggesting he could soon be on his way out of Parkhead.
A switch to Newcastle has been touted, with the Magpies expected to be busy in the January transfer window.
Alan Pardew has money to spend and is likely to dip into the New Year transfer market in an effort to help his side maintain their flying start to the season.
Brown is believed to feature prominently on his wish list, but the 26-year-old Scotland international has been quick to distance himself from the rumours.
"I've heard all the stuff about Newcastle but I haven't paid the slightest bit of attention to it," he said.
"I'm captain of Celtic, why would I even think about going anywhere else?
"I have a hunger to win more trophies as Celtic captain so that I can look back at my time with the club and consider myself to have been a success.
"The club know how I feel and as long as the manager wants me here, then I don't see a problem in working out a deal."
