Oakley's club future uncertain

Matt Oakley may not return to Exeter before the conclusion of his loan spell from Leicester.

The midfielder picked up a groin injury in the 0-0 draw with Carlisle on November 5 and has not featured for the Grecians since. With his temporary stint in Devon set to end next week, Exeter manager manager Paul Tisdale admitted he is not certain whether the 34-year-old will play for his side again this term. He told the BBC: "Leicester haven't actually said 'yes, he can come back'. I've tried to have that conversation. "I've tried to phone the last couple of days but Nigel's (Pearson, Leicester boss) only been there a couple of days. I suppose we're a week off getting that information. "(It's a risk) taking a player on loan for another month, paying the wages and then that player not being fit. It's a risk taking somebody back that's injured, even if you think with a fair win he's going to be fit within a week or two."
