Kenny Jackett has turned to Aston Villa for the second time in two days to bolster his defence with the signing of Shane Lowry.
The 22-year-old has joined the Lions on an emergency loan that runs until January 3rd.
Lowry can play in central defence or at left-back but has yet to make a Premier League appearance for Villa.
However, the Republic of Ireland international has garnered a wealth of Football League experience following previous loan spells with Plymouth, Leeds and Sheffield United.
He will find a familiar face at The Den after Nathan Baker was signed on loan on Tuesday from the Midlands outfit to provide the Lions with defensive cover.
Baker has joined the Championship side on an initial one-month deal.
