French star Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa has admitted he wants to play in the Premier League.
The Montpellier skipper, 22, has been linked with a big-money move to Newcastle, where he would join an already-sizeable Gallic contingent at St James' Park.
The Magpies board made a strategic decision to tap into the cross-Channel market and it is thought they have targeted Yanga-Mbiwa as their next acquisition.
And the defender, who has helped Montpellier challenge Paris St Germain at the top of Ligue 1, is open to making the switch to England.
He said in the Daily Mirror: "People live for football in England, and that is what I want to experience.
"I'll see what offers I get, but English football is incredible.
"There is more physical contact than in France, but I like that - it suits me."
